Helps you understand your emotions and prevent burnout.

Empathy helps you learn to control your emotions, even during times of high stress, and helps you communicate and work more effectively with others, thus helping to prevent burnout .

Helps in making the right decisions

People who are empathetic tend to have a high level of self-awareness and take precautions not to affect others, such as not engaging in health-risk behaviors such as drinking alcohol or using drugs, or deciding not to disturb their loved one. If they are having problems that need to be dealt with.

Encourage helping others

When we have empathy for others, we tend to want to help when we see someone in trouble. People who have empathy tend to help those around them more often, such as helping friends who are having problems at work  or donating money and supplies to disaster victims.
